NOA Amaretto Review

Amaretto. Without the alcohol.

I had to see if the NOA gang could really pull it off.

One pour in, I knew.

First Impressions

The bottle has presence.NOA keeps the design clean with that warm peach-toned label, and the glass feels substantial in your hand. Heavier than a 700ml non-alcoholic spirit usually feels. Pour it neat and you get a deep amber, slightly viscous, the kind of color that says liqueur before you even read the label.

The pour itself moves slowly. There is real syrup texture in there, not the watery body you brace for with alcohol-free spirits. You can already tell this one was built with intent.

How it actually tastes

The first sip is honest amaretto. Toasted almond comes forward right away, with that marzipan sweetness underneath and a soft note of apricot stone in the background. The vanilla is there, quiet, doing its job. Sweet but never cloying, with enough depth to feel like a grown-up liqueur and not a syrup.

What surprised me was the finish. Most non-alcoholic liqueurs fall apart at the end. This one carries. You get a slow warmth that mimics the alcohol bloom without faking it. The kind of finish that makes you nod and go back for another sip!

The best summer drink with it

If you only make one thing with this bottle this summer, make it an Amaretto Sour. Two ounces of NOA Amaretto, one ounce of fresh lemon juice, half an ounce of simple syrup, one egg white. Dry shake hard for ten seconds to build the foam, then shake again with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe or a short rocks glass over one big cube. Express a lemon twist over the top. The foam holds, the color glows, the lemon does the lifting. This is the patio drink. Hot afternoon, cold glass, a chair in the shade. That is the move.

Things we like

Frequently asked questions

Does it really taste like real amaretto?

Yes, with the almond and marzipan you expect from the category. The only thing missing is the alcohol burn at the back, and even that gets imitated by the texture and warmth of the syrup itself.

Can I drink it neat?

You can, but it was built for cocktails. It is sweet on its own and will feel heavy without acid or dilution. Even a splash of soda water and a squeeze of lemon transforms it into something refreshing.

How long does an open bottle last?

Store it cool and dark and you have months of good drinking. No alcohol means it does not preserve itself the same way, so keep the cap tight and use a clean pour every time.
