Virgin Mimosa
The Virgin Mimosa is a non-alcoholic version of the quintessential brunch cocktail, traditionally made with equal parts fresh-squeezed orange juice and non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
Ingredients
90 ml (3 oz) chilled Non-Alcoholic Nozeco Prosecco
90 ml (3 oz) Orange Juice (pulp-free is best for bubbles)
Garnish: A fresh orange slice.
Preparation
The Pour: Pour the chilled orange juice into a champagne flute first. This prevents the punchy juice from settling at the bottom and helps it mix naturally.
The Fizz: Top with the Noughty Sparkling Chardonnay. Pour slowly at an angle to preserve as many bubbles as possible.
Finish: Garnish and serve immediately while ice-cold.
Preparation advice
While 50/50 is the "standard" ratio, many experts prefer a 2:1 ratio (2 parts Nozeco to 1 part juice). This allows the crisp, dry notes of the sparkling white to shine through without being buried by the sugar in the orange juice.
Squeeze a tiny piece of orange zest over the top of the finished drink. The fresh oils hitting the surface of the Nozeco will provide a bright, fresh aroma that makes the drink feel much more expensive than a simple juice-and-soda mix.
Never put ice in a Mimosa. It dilutes the delicate carbonation of the Nozeco. If the drink isn't cold enough, your ingredients weren't chilled long enough!
