Non-Alcoholic White Sangria
This iconic Spanish drink is best known for its red version (sangria comes from sangre, meaning "blood" in Spanish), traditionally made with wines from the Rioja region. Meet its little sister, the sangria blanca, more delicate and refreshing.
Ingredients
2 cups (500 ml) of non-alcoholic white wine
2 oz (60 ml) of NOA Garden Gin
1 oz (30 ml) of Monsieur Cocktail Lime Syrup
2 oz (60 ml) of pear juice or nectar
1 pear, sliced
1/3 cucumber, sliced
1 can (250 ml) of NOA Dry Sparkling Wine
Cucumber and pear slices (for garnish)
Preparation
Macerate: In a large pitcher, add all ingredients except the sparkling wine. Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours.
Top off: Just before serving, top with the sparkling wine.
Serve: Divide into wine glasses filled with ice.
Garnish: Garnish with pear and cucumber slices.
Preparation advice
Patience is key with sangria. The 2-4 hour maceration is not optional - it lets the fruit infuse the wine with flavour. Always add the sparkling wine at the very last moment before serving to keep the bubbles alive. This recipe scales up easily for larger gatherings.
