First Impressions

Collective Arts has been one of the most respected names in Canadian craft beer for years. Their artwork-covered cans are basically gallery pieces at this point. So when they turned that same energy toward a non-alcoholic IPA, it felt like a statement. They brewed it with the same hop trio that powers their award-winning alcoholic IPAs: citra, simcoe, and mosaic. That is not a shy lineup. I grabbed a cold one and let it do the talking.

The 355mL can looks sharp. The rotating artist label gives it personality that most NA cans simply do not have. Pour it into a pint glass and you get a clear golden body with a thin white head that fades quickly but leaves decent lacing. It looks like a proper West Coast IPA sitting there in the afternoon light.

The aroma hits you with bright grapefruit and mango right away, followed by a resinous pine note that keeps it grounded. There is a subtle grain sweetness underneath that rounds things out. It smells like a real hop-forward beer, and that first impression sets the right expectations for what is coming next.

How it actually tastes

The first sip is all citrus. Juicy tropical notes fill the front of the palate, and then the simcoe brings that classic piney bitterness that IPA lovers know and love. It has a lighter body than a full-strength craft IPA, but it never feels thin or watery. The malt backbone does its job quietly, keeping the hops from running away with the whole thing. The finish is clean with a gentle bitter snap that makes you want another sip right away!

Over ice on a hot day, it holds up well. The carbonation stays lively and the hop character does not wash out the way some NA beers do when they get diluted. From the first pour to the last swallow, the flavour profile stays consistent and balanced. This is a well-built beer that understands what it is trying to be.

Where This One Shines

Pour it cold into a standard pint glass or a sturdy tumbler. No fancy glassware needed. This is a backyard beer, a barbecue beer, a watching-the-game-with-friends beer. It fits right into any moment where you want something with character without the alcohol slowing you down.

At $3.49 a can, it sits right in the sweet spot for NA craft beer. The 4-pack at $12.99 makes it easy to stock the fridge without thinking twice. People keep coming back to this one because it delivers a familiar IPA experience that does not feel like a compromise. It makes you feel like part of the crew, cold beer in hand, no questions asked!

Ontario craft pride in every sip. Three hops doing exactly what they were built to do. A crowd pleaser that earns the title honestly. Grab a 4-pack and find your patio!

Frequently asked questions

What hops are in the Collective Arts Non-Alcoholic IPA?

Collective Arts uses citra, simcoe, and mosaic hops in their NA IPA. These are the same premium hop varieties used in their award-winning alcoholic IPAs. Citra brings tropical fruit, simcoe adds pine and earthiness, and mosaic contributes citrus and berry notes.

How many calories are in the Collective Arts IPA?

The Collective Arts Non-Alcoholic IPA is a lighter option compared to traditional IPAs. With less than 0.5% alcohol, it contains significantly fewer calories than a full-strength craft IPA while still delivering bold hop flavour.

Is the Collective Arts IPA gluten-free?

No. This beer is brewed with malted barley, malted wheat, and oats, so it is not suitable for people with celiac disease or a gluten intolerance. If you need a gluten-free option, check out our full selection for alternatives.
